Dynamic Coupling Index

Dynamic Coupling Index (DCI)

The Dynamic Coupling Index (DCI) evaluates the dynamic coupling between any residue pair within a protein. Similar to DFI, DCI uses perturbation responses to gauge how force perturbation exterted on one part of a protein affect distant regions. High DCI scores indicate strong allosteric communications. Distal residue positions exhibiting high dynamic coupling with the functional sites (i.e. active/binding sites) can allosterically impact their dynamics, particularly when these positions gets mutated.
